FIA cracks down on human traffickers

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intensified its crackdown on human traffickers on Thursday.

In a targeted operation, the FIA conducted a raid at a travel agency located on Main Boulevard Gulberg. During the operation, two individuals, Mubashir and Ibrahim, were apprehended for their involvement in human trafficking and visa fraud.

A significant haul of counterfeit passports and visa stickers was confiscated by the FIA during the raid. Additionally, it was alleged that the accused had been extorting money from citizens through illicit means.

Despite being questioned by the FIA, the accused failed to provide satisfactory documentation. Consequently, the FIA initiated an investigation against them.

In a separate incident, the anti-corruption department in Lahore caught a revenue official red-handed while accepting a bribe from a citizen.

Furthermore, acting upon instructions from Collector Mateen Alam and under the supervision of Deputy Collector Ali, authorities successfully intercepted smuggled wax and Iranian plastic grains. Over 600 drums of petroleum wax, valued at millions of rupees, were seized from a large warehouse where the contraband had been concealed.
