In Multan, PEF schools are facing a severe financial crisis, with teachers missing three months of salaries and struggling to pay utility bills.

There is a risk of 7,500 PEF schools closing, potentially leaving 27 million underprivileged children without education and 300,000 teachers jobless.

Sources indicate that these schools have not received government payments for student fees for three months, causing significant financial distress.

The administration has warned parents that schools might close any time due to non-payment.

The chairman of the Federation of Registered Schools Punjab, Fareed Khan Bangash, has warned that many teachers have already resigned due to unpaid salaries. Without immediate government intervention, these schools are likely to shut down, pushing an additional 2.7 million children into labor.

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, is urged to release funds immediately to these schools that provide free quality education to impoverished children.
