Former cricketers react to Pakistan’s team selection for T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s chief selector Mohammad Wasim announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup next month in Australia on Thursday.

Many former cricketers were expecting a massive change in the Pakistan team after losing two back-to-back matches against Sri Lanka in Asia Cup 2022.

However, the PCB selection committee, Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq and Captain Babar Azam decided not to make many changes and back the current bunch of players.

Many ex-cricketers have expressed their opinion regarding the selection of the Pakistan team.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Muhammad Amir took a dig at chief selector Muhammad Wasim on Twitter by calling his selection ‘cheap’.

Muhammad Amir’s comments haven’t gone well with the public as he faced harsh replies.

Shoaib Akhtar also criticized the team selection, calling it ordinary and said that it would be exposed badly in Australia.

Former Pakistan captain Muhammad Hafeez gave best wishes to the Pakistan team for the world cup.

Former cricketer Aqib Javed, while talking to a local news channel, said he could not see this team winning the world cup.
