At least four dissident PTI MNAs to vote ‘according to conscience’ on no-trust motion

PPP says lawmakers being threatened by govt from voting against PM Khan

PTI lawmakers Raja Riaz, Malik Nawab Sher Waseer, Noor Alam Khan and Basit Bukhari

At least four dissenting members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, including Raja Riaz and Noor Alam Khan, who have been residing at the Sindh House in Islamabad, have publically proclaimed on Thursday, that they would vote on the no-confidence motion in “accordance with their conscience”.

Speaking with a local news channel, Raja Riaz, a member of the Jahangir Tareen group, said there were close to 24 PTI lawmakers staying at the Sindh House. He said they were afraid of a possible government action against them parallel to the police raid on the Parliament Lodges on March 10.

This comes as Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday alleged that the government was threatening lawmakers in order to deter them from voting against the premier in the no-confidence vote.

In a tweet, Bilawal said that MNAs had been threatened with violence and detentions if they voted against PM Khan. He said the lawmakers would take all means for protection against the “fascist regime”.

He said his party and the Pakistan Democratic Movement would do everything in their power to protect them, adding that they would keep their cards to themselves.
