Lahore: The significant increase in the prices of gas, electricity and petroleum products has made life unbearable for the public making it difficult for the working class and traders to provide two square meals a day to their children.
Public representatives have spent two months in the assemblies but there has been no reduction in the prices of electricity, gas, LPG and petroleum products. Instead of a decrease, continuous increases in prices have troubled the public. Meanwhile, the working class and rural communities are now fearful about providing two square meals a day.
Citizens are expressing that paying gas and electricity bills makes it impossible for them to feed their children. They earn a monthly income of 20 to 25 thousand rupees, and the gas and electricity bills exceed this amount. The government claimed to reduce inflation but instead, there has been an increase in the prices of essential commodities.
Citizens further stated that merely reducing the price of bread by four rupees will not provide relief to the public. The government should also reduce the prices of electricity, gas and petroleum products.
