An 18-year-old girl was gang-raped in a car on Faisalabad-Gojra Motorway M4 after she was offered a job.

Local police have registered a case against three accused, including a woman, and arrested two. The female accused is absconding while the police have also seized a vehicle allegedly used in the gang-rape.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has sought a report of the incident from the regional police officer of Faisalabad. According to the case registered at City Police Station, the accused had lured Toba Tek Singh’s 18-year-old girl to Gojra by offering her a job at a boutique.

The accused gang-raped the girl in a car on Faisalabad-Gojra Motorway M4 and later abandoned her at Faisalabad Interchange before fleeing. The victim’s aunt said that her niece was called to Gojra for an interview through a phone message. On reaching Gojra from Toba Tek Singh, the accused asked for her to be sent for an interview. The victim’s aunt stated in the FIR that there was a woman and two men in the vehicle in which her niece was taken. The accused gang-raped her niece on the motorway and dropped her at Faisalabad Interchange.

SP Waqar Ahmed said the victim did not name the accused, nor did she have their car number. Local police say that the victim has undergone a medical examination, which confirms gang-rape. Her DNA sample has been taken and sent to Lahore. Dr Masood, medical superintendent at District Headquarters Hospital, has said that according to the medical report of the victim, rape has been confirmed.

The report said that various parts of the girl’s body bore torture marks. Local police are investigating the arrested suspects, while their female partner is still at large. The car used in the crime has been seized while raid teams have been formed to nab the female accused.
