Pakistani singer Huma Khawaja has released her new Punjabi song, “Tere Rang”, which she describes as a soulful love song inspired by the colours of life, relationships and celebrations.

In an interview with The Express Tribune, Khawaja said the song was created in January and released in October.

“As we say, autumn comes after spring. So we need colours. When colours change, that is how it got the name Tere Rang,” she said.

Khawaja described the track as a simple, accessible love song that she hopes will resonate with listeners at different stages of life. She said its themes could relate to occasions such as weddings, birthdays and Valentine’s Day.

“It is a cute song, a soulful song. It is about spreading love. It is an easy song that everyone can understand,” she said.

Ali Mustafa produced the track at his studio in Lahore, while Samia Gauhar, a top-six contestant on Pakistan Idol, handled the vocal production. Roshaan Ashraf, who is associated with the Mehboob Ashraf Band, is also credited in the project.

Khawaja used artificial intelligence (AI) to create a video reflecting the song’s themes.

For Khawaja, the title “Tere Rang” extends beyond romance, evoking the excitement of celebrations, the variety of life and the emotions that connect people.
