Imran Khan nominates Hamid Raza for PAC chairman

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has nominated Hamid Raza, the head of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), as the chairman of the public accounts committee (PAC). Imran Khan issued directions to opposition leader Omar Ayub for the nomination of Hamid Raza, following the earlier nomination of Sher Afzal Marwat from PTI.

A meeting was held with opposition members Zain Qureshi, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Hamid Raza, along with the speaker of the National Assembly, to discuss the formation of parliamentary committees. The opposition put forward the name of Hamid Raza for chairman of PAC, and the speaker, Ayaz Sadiq, stated that the selection will be made according to rules.

The speaker clarified that he does not have the jurisdiction to nominate the chairman of PAC, and the decision will be made by the opposition party. Whichever name is given by the opposition will be appointed as the chairman of PAC.
