Interior minister unveils 24/7 passport services in Karachi and Lahore

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has launched round-the-clock passport services in Karachi and Lahore, marking a significant milestone in enhancing public access to essential documentation.

Minister Naqvi announced this initiative on X, formerly known as Twitter, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize passport services and address the persistent challenges faced by citizens.

This decision underscores the government’s commitment to streamlining bureaucratic processes and ensuring citizens’ convenience in obtaining passports.

With at least one passport office in each city operational 24/7 starting May 7, this move aims to provide seamless access to passport services at any hour of the day. The Regional Passport Offices in Awami Markaz Sharea Faisal, Karachi, and Garden Town, Lahore, will serve as primary facilitators of this groundbreaking service.

Despite logistical challenges such as the recent shortage of lamination sheets, essential for passport production, the government remains dedicated to resolving issues and maintaining efficient passport issuance procedures to meet the needs of thousands of applicants daily.
