Iranian President concludes official visit to Pakistan, returns to Iran

Iranian President Dr. Ibrahim Raisi concluded his visit to Pakistan and returned to Iran alongside his delegation. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Tesori bid farewell to the guests at Karachi Airport.

During the visit, President Raisi engaged with various Pakistani officials, including the Prime Minister, President, Army Chief, Senate Chairman, National Assembly Speaker, and provincial Chief Ministers and Governors.

Both countries pledged to boost their trade volume to $10 billion. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Raisi held a joint conference in Islamabad after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in multiple sectors.

Prime Minister Sharif stated the depth of the bilateral ties, spanning religious, cultural, economic, and security domains, dating back to Pakistan’s inception, which Iran was the first to recognize.

Acknowledging Iran’s support on the Kashmir issue, Prime Minister Sharif criticized the UN’s silence on the violation of Security Council resolutions concerning Gaza.

President Raisi acknowledged the enduring friendship between Iran and Pakistan, stating their shared history and geographical proximity. He expressed commitment to enhancing economic, commercial, and cultural ties, aiming to strengthen mutual relations.

Both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to expanding cooperation across various sectors, including trade, energy, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people relations.

Accompanied by his wife, the Iranian foreign minister, cabinet members, senior officials, and businessmen, President Raisi’s three-day official visit marked a significant step towards fortifying the enduring bond between Iran and Pakistan.
