Israel kills eight people in attack on police vehicle in Gaza

An Israeli strike targeted a police vehicle believed to be involved in aid delivery and maintaining order in Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals identified as part of the law enforcement deployment. The incident occurred in the densely populated eastern part of Gaza City, akin to other heavily affected areas like Shujayea.

The ongoing bombing campaign and artillery shelling have led to further displacement of the neighborhood’s inhabitants in recent weeks. Gaza’s Interior Ministry has condemned the attack, attributing the deaths to seven officers and members of the police force, alongside additional bystanders, totaling nine casualties.

In response, the ministry criticized the Israeli army’s repeated, targeted assaults on security forces across Gaza, accusing them of instigating chaos among the local population. Urging international intervention, the ministry called on the global community to pressure Israel to cease its attacks on police personnel fulfilling their duty to serve and protect Gaza’s residents.
