Joint declaration between Pakistan and Iran issued after President’s visit

Following the visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, a Joint Declaration was issued outlining key points discussed during the meeting.

The declaration, consisting of 28 points, highlighted the delegation-level discussions between President Raisi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, covering various aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran.

President Raisi’s official visit, upon the invitation of Prime Minister Sharif, was acknowledged in the statement, noting his accompanied high-level delegation, including the Foreign Minister and other cabinet members.

The discussions encompassed regional and global issues of mutual concern, leading to the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements. Both nations affirmed their commitment to strengthen brotherly ties through regular high-level visits, stating the historical, cultural, religious, and civilizational bonds between the two neighboring Muslim countries.

Condemning the attack on the Iranian consular session in Damascus, Pakistan and Iran reiterated their mutual border as a symbol of friendship and peace.

The joint statement highlighted the agreement to collaborate on political and security matters indefinitely, aiming to combat terrorism, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. President Raisi’s official visit commenced on April 22 and concluded on April 24, with his departure from Karachi.
