Jordan executes six more aid airdrops to Northern Gaza

Jordan’s armed forces have completed an additional six airdrops of food aid to the northern Gaza Strip, as reported by the Jordan News Agency. The Royal Jordanian Air Force conducted the humanitarian mission with aircraft provided by Egypt, the US, and Germany. Since the commencement of Israel’s conflict with Gaza in October, Jordan has executed 84 independent humanitarian airdrops and collaborated on 190 with other nations.

In an interview with CNN in March, Queen Rania explain the case behind Jordan’s decision to intervene, citing the UN’s declaration of a severe food crisis in the area.

“We found that after trying so hard in vain to persuade Israel to open the land-access points, we had to do something. We couldn’t just sit idle and watch people starving,” she expressed.

The queen characterized the airdrops as desperate measures to alleviate a dire situation, describing them as “drops in an ocean of unmet needs.”

The Jordanian army affirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
