JUI-F will sit in opposition, declares Fazal Ur Rehman

Mulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), announced on Tuesday that his party would assume the role of the opposition.

During a press conference in Islamabad, Rehman stated that the JUI-F Central Executive Committee (CEC), convened for two days, had rejected the election results.

Dismissing any possibility of forming alliances with other political parties, Rehman emphasized that his party would not enter into any alliances.

He pledged that JUI-F would continue to fulfill its parliamentary duties. Rehman also extended an invitation to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to collaborate with him in the opposition.

“We are not subservient to the PML-N and PPP,” he affirmed.

Rehman criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), alleging that if the establishment believed the elections were fair, it indicated a departure from the narrative of May 9 and accused the ECP of being influenced by the establishment.

He announced the schedule for upcoming JUI-F meetings, stating that a meeting was planned for February 22 in Islamabad, followed by gatherings in Balochistan on February 25, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 27, in Sindh on March 3, and in Lahore on March 5.
