K-Pop group ITZY showcases individuality on second world tour

The members of K-pop supergroup ITZY are poised to showcase a fresh perspective as they embark on their ‘Born to Be’ tour, bringing their music to fans worldwide.

Named after their third studio album released in January, the tour spans 18 countries across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Europe, and North America this year.

In a joint interview with Reuters, ITZY members Ryujin, Yeji, Chaeryeong, and Yuna highlighted the significance of performing their solo songs on stage, a departure from previous world tours.

This opportunity, they noted, allowed them to express themselves more authentically through their music.

Since their debut in 2019, ITZY has cultivated a dedicated fan base known as MIDZY, drawn to the group’s energetic blend of pop, hip-hop, and EDM, as well as their empowering messages of self-love and empowerment.

Ryujin emphasized that while each K-pop group has its unique strengths, ITZY’s focus lies in their dynamic performances and their overarching message of self-acceptance.

Amidst their success, ITZY member Lia has been on hiatus for health reasons since September, as confirmed by the group’s label.

However, Ryujin assured fans that Lia is making progress and remains optimistic about her return, noting that they continue to support and spend time with her.

The ‘Born to Be’ tour commenced in Seoul in February and is set to conclude in Hong Kong in August, promising an exciting journey for both the group and their global fanbase.
