Khawaja Asif demands end to SC’s unethical meddling in parliamentary affairs

    Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has called an end to the Supreme Court’s unethical meddling in parliamentary affairs.

    In his remarks to the National Assembly, Khawaja Asif urged the establishment of a committee made up of every member of the House and called for an end to the Supreme Court’s unethical meddling in parliamentary affairs.

    He remarked that just as they shouldn’t cross their boundaries, neither should the judges as well.

    Defence Minister further said that when dictators distorted the constitution, the judiciary would thumb their nose at it.

    Khawaja Asif also said that the issue of interference in the constitution from Justice Munir to the current judiciary should be resolved.

    He said that the Supreme Court is currently handling 50,000 cases, and the High Courts are currently handling 40,000 cases, adding, that the real focus should be on resolving those cases and providing justice to a common man.
