US vows to continue strengthening ties with Pakistan

The US State Department has affirmed the significance of Pakistan as one of its key partners in the region.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel stated, “Pakistan continues to be one of our most important partners in the region.”

In response to inquiries, Patel highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the US and the Pakistani government, particularly in security and trade.

Regarding the importance of a free press in democracy, Patel reiterated the US stance, emphasizing their commitment to transparency and accountability through regular press interactions.

However, Patel refrained from commenting on the recent attack on a Sikh leader, stating that the matter is under investigation by the US Law and Justice Department.

Previously, the United States expressed its support for Pakistan’s economic reforms. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller affirmed that Pakistan has made strides in stabilizing its economy, and the US stands behind its efforts to address its significant debt challenges.
