LHC issues notices to Punjab government and IG for kite flying ban

The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued notices to the Punjab government, IG Punjab, and home secretary following a plea to completely ban kite flying in the province.

Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad presided over the plea filed by Azhar Siddique advocate.

Chemical strings from kites have led to numerous fatalities across Punjab, with authorities allegedly failing to protect lives and enforce a ban on kite flying.

The court was asked to instruct authorities to enact legislation for a total ban on kite flying.

After the initial hearing, the court served notices to the Punjab government and others, requesting their response to the plea.
