Majority of Pakistani mothers advised formula milk by medical staff

Islamabad: Professor Shehzad, Vice-Chancellor of Health Services Academy has revealed that formula milk is damaging children’s health. According to a survey, 80% of Pakistani mothers reported that they were advised by doctors, nurses and hospital medical staff to feed their babies formula milk instead of breast milk.

During a speech at an event, Professor Shehzad disclosed that some doctors who recommend formula milk over breast milk are involved in collusion with formula milk companies receiving commissions for promoting it.

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that breast milk provides the best natural immunity while formula milk increases the risk of heart disease, diabetes and mental illnesses in the future. He stated that formula milk is detrimental to children’s health.
