Meta’s Thread service surpasses 150 million monthly users

California: Meta’s introduction of Threads, a service akin to Twitter has seen its monthly user base surpass 150 million according to reports.

This announcement was made by Meta’s Chief Executive, Mark Zuckerberg while releasing the earnings report for the three-month period from January to March 2024. Previously, in February 2024, he had stated that Threads had 130 million monthly users indicating an impressive addition of 20 million users in a short span.

It’s worth noting that Threads was introduced in July 2023 initially garnering significant interest from users on the new social media platform. However, there was a subsequent decline in engagement.

Efforts are now underway from Meta to enhance Threads and revitalize user engagement. During the period from January to March 2024, there was an increase of 20 million users bringing the total number of users utilizing the platform to 150 million.

Meta’s endeavors to improve Threads are yielding results evident from the steady growth in user numbers. This upward trajectory signifies the platform’s potential to become a significant player in the realm of social media.
