Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered investigations into electricity overbilling companies.
Special teams, including officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the anti-corruption Wing, have been formed.
To prevent overbilling during the summer, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi personally took action.
He directed investigations against overbilling companies and formed special FIA teams, including Anti-Corruption Wing officials and senior officers.
FIA officers will monitor billing and electricity theft of every electricity distribution company. Adil Khan Niazi is the focal person for Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).
Shabir Ahmed is the focal person for Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), and Zawar Manzoor for Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco).
These officers will work together with the CEOs of electricity distribution companies.
FIA officers will report cases of electricity theft and overbilling directly to the Interior Minister.
They also have the authority to take action against officers involved in overbilling and electricity theft.
