Muneeb Butt gets his arms waxed and eyebrows done to play intersex Assistant Commissioner

Muneeb Butt has waxed his arms and gotten his eyebrows done in preparation for his role as an intersex assistant commissioner in the latest drama Sar-e-Rah.

Butt played a fairly unusual role in the limited episode series, which also stars Saba Qamar, Hareem Farooq, Saboor Aly, and Sunita Marshall.

The actor revealed that to portray a role unlike any other he had ever portrayed, a lot happened behind the camera.

On Show, Butt and the Sar-e-Rah actors promoted the show by talking about their impressions of the shoot and how they got their parts. Sunita, Saba, and Hareem all discussed what it was like to play Rania, Mariyam, and Mizna, respectively. Muneeb revealed that he originally had no intention of portraying Assistant Commissioner Sarang because he was not offered the part.

“I wound up with the shoot of other dramas way before I picked Sar-e-Rah. I was so excited, actually over-excited, that I had prepared long enough for the role that during this time I wouldn’t do anything else. So my focus remains on just one thing because the character is very sensitive that if I had left one thing out, I wouldn’t have been able to justify it,” Butt said.

“The producer is unable to understand that an actor is capable of pulling off different roles. I mean, for this project, no one told me that I have to do this, but I got my arms waxed and eyebrows done for this role. It’s such a painful process and I’m now able to understand it. When I was getting my eyebrows done, it felt like I was getting operated on,” he laughed.
