Nation experiencing severe economic struggles, says Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal remarked on Wednesday that the country is currently grappling with significant economic challenges.

Sharing his perspective, Iqbal noted, “The government’s operations heavily rely on loans, signaling a critical issue for us.”

He stressed the importance of enhancing production capacity, increasing revenue, and boosting exports to revitalize the country’s economy.

“There’s no alternative for the country but to achieve economic growth of up to nine percent,” he added.

Ahsan Iqbal called on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to adopt a “positive” stance in the assemblies.

Addressing the gathering in Zafarwal, Iqbal criticized the PTI, stating, “A political party that couldn’t conduct its internal elections secured its seats through an alliance with another party.”

He underscored the importance of unity, stating, “By joining forces, we can collectively tackle various challenges, with one of the major challenges being the revival of the country’s economy.”

The PML-N veteran urged the PTI to introspect before leveling accusations against opponents. He questioned, “How can they [the PTI] address the country’s issues if they persist in blaming others?”
