Pakistan and UK strengthen bilateral relations rooted in history, President Asif Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari underscored the deep-rooted and cordial relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom (UK), emphasizing their shared history and legacy during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President highlighted the significance of continuous high-level engagements and people-to-people contacts, which have further solidified the bond between the two nations over the years.

Emphasizing the importance of enhancing trade and economic cooperation, President Zardari stressed the mutual benefits that both countries could derive from strengthening these ties. He expressed warm sentiments towards King Charles III and Princess Catherine Middleton, conveying the Pakistani people’s high regard for His Majesty.

Additionally, President Zardari addressed key economic priorities, emphasizing the need for stabilizing the economy, generating employment opportunities, and alleviating poverty. He also highlighted the pressing challenge of climate change, noting Pakistan’s vulnerability and the importance of environmental sustainability.

President Zardari discussed Pakistan’s vast potential for renewable energy sources like solar and wind, crucial for meeting the country’s energy needs.
