PM Shahbaz calls for unity and economic focus to propel Pakistan forward

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has underscored the imperative for collective action, irrespective of political affiliations, to advance Pakistan’s best interests.

Speaking to the business community in Karachi, he emphasized the need to bolster key sectors, strengthen industry, and ramp up imports to stimulate economic growth. Prime Minister Sharif stressed that national development hinges on unity, urging stakeholders to set aside personal differences and work towards common goals.

Acknowledging the pivotal role of businessmen in driving the Pakistani economy, Prime Minister Sharif commended their resilience in navigating challenges. He emphasized the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity, asserting that nations that endure hardships ultimately progress. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to address unemployment and ensure equitable opportunities for all citizens.

Prime Minister Sharif reassured the business community of the government’s commitment to transparent privatization processes, promising to facilitate foreign investment without bureaucratic impediments. He affirmed that the government’s role is to formulate policies, not to micromanage industries, thereby creating an enabling environment for business growth.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Sharif announced plans to engage with Saudi Arabia, signaling opportunities for economic collaboration and investment. He urged the business community to seize these opportunities and contribute to Pakistan’s economic resurgence. Additionally, he addressed concerns raised by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) regarding high utility rates, pledging to address these issues to enhance competitiveness in the global market.

Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the government’s commitment to combat smuggling and ensure fair trade practices. He affirmed that while eradicating smuggling may take time, concerted efforts can effectively curb illicit trade. Regarding privatization, he reiterated the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring stakeholders of a clear and transparent process.
