Prediction of date of Eid-ul-Azha, possibly in June

The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) in Egypt suggests a strong likelihood of Eid al-Adha occurring on June 16.

According to Arab media reports, NRIAG stated that Dhu al-Hijjah’s first day will be on Friday, June 7.

They mentioned that the new moon of Dhu al-Hijjah in 1445 AH will be visible in Mecca for 11 minutes after sunset and in Cairo for 18 minutes.

Based on these calculations, the Day of Arafah is expected to be on June 15, with Eid al-Adha likely to follow on June 16.

However, the final confirmation depends on Saudi Arabia’s announcement regarding the sighting of the Eid al-Adha moon.

Muslims worldwide, having recently celebrated Eid al-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan, now await the final month of the Islamic calendar, Dhu al-Hijjah.

During this time, many Muslims gather in Mecca for the Hajj pilgrimage, while the second major religious festival of the year is celebrated with enthusiasm.
