PSB’s delayed projects still halted after five months

Work related to replacement, redevelopment and maintenance of Pakistan Sports Board’s (PSB) National Sports Training and Coaching Centre (NSTCC) has been stopped for five months.

According to a local media report, development and maintenance of old infrastructure along with replacement of decades old track have been halted despite their tenders being issued months ago before the change of the federal government.

According to the report, everything has come to a standstill following the change of government, despite tenders of various development works being issued along with inauguration of a multipurpose sports complex at the coaching center.

The coaching center is currently working without any sports director, despite the fact that two sports director were appointed during the last five months. However, both of them had returned after spending few weeks there.

The delayed projects include replacement of old track, floodlights installation, laying of hockey turf, sprinkling system and football stadium.

Inauguration of recently completed multipurpose sports complex was done earlier this year during the tenure of previous sports director Shahid ul Islam.
