PTI core committee snubs Sher Afzal Marwat

Sources within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) say a contentious exchange of words occurred between party leaders Sher Afzal Marwat and Niazullah Niazi during a recent core committee meeting.

According to insiders, the core committee members voiced criticism towards Sher Afzal Marwat, with Firdous Shamim Naqvi notably remarking that Marwat should have a mentor to guide him. Naqvi expressed concern over Marwat’s alleged attacks on fellow party members, stating, “Sher Afzal Marwat is targeting his own people.”

Responding to the critique, Marwat asserted that a smear campaign was underway against him, with no one willing to confront the issue openly. He lamented the lack of support from within PTI ranks, stating, “I have steered PTI, yet its own members are speaking against me.”

Further discussions within the core committee highlighted concerns that Marwat’s statements often diverged from the party’s established narrative, potentially undermining PTI’s agenda. It was suggested that Marwat’s actions could jeopardize months of strategic messaging.

Meanwhile, Niazullah Niazi engaged in a heated exchange with Marwat, cautioning him against his approach. In a tense moment, Marwat challenged Niazi to confront him directly, prompting Niazi to assert, “Don’t mistake me for Shoaib Shaheen.”

Subsequently, senior party figures including Ali Muhammad Khan, Naeem Panjotha, and Barrister Gohar intervened to defuse the escalating tensions.
