Punjab CM: Half of police force should be women

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her desire for gender equality in the police force, advocating for half of the staff to be female. She lauded the dedication of women officers, noting their arduous work in traditionally male-dominated roles. Stating the importance of increasing the number of women in the force, she hailed them as “super humans” and highlighted their pivotal role as both mothers and daughters.

During a passing out parade in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz commended the first female recipient of the Sword of Honor and praised the overall dedication of the officers. Reflecting on the weight of responsibility that comes with her position, she urged the officers to uphold justice and maintain a firm stance against oppression.

Acknowledging her own journey to leadership, Maryam Nawaz acknowledged need for individuals to prove themselves based on merit, rather than lineage.

Encouraging parents to support their daughters’ aspirations, she stated their potential to bring honor, not only to their families but also to the nation. Maryam Nawaz concluded by urging the officers to stand firm in upholding justice and maintaining integrity in their duties.
