Punjab government unites efforts to combat criminal activity in Dera Ghazi Khan division 

On Wednesday, Responding to the Punjab government’s directive, the divisional administration, security forces, and relevant departments have joined forces to devise a coordinated strategy to tackle criminal elements within the Dera Ghazi Khan division.

Under the leadership of Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir, a pivotal video conference was convened to address the pressing security challenges. Notable attendees included RPO Captain Retired Sajjad Hasan Khan, Deputy Commissioners, DPOs, and senior officers, engaging in comprehensive discussions to assess the region’s security landscape.

Recognizing its status as a tri-border area, a thorough examination of prevalent issues was conducted, with a focus on enhancing operational capabilities across law enforcement agencies. Recommendations for manpower augmentation, provision of modern equipment, deployment of vehicles, and establishment of joint checkpoints were deliberated for swift implementation.

Commissioner Dr. Nasir Mehmood Bashir emphasized the need for a unified approach to confront the multifaceted security challenges of the DG Khan Tri-Border Division. He stressed the importance of community engagement, particularly with local elders, to strengthen security initiatives.

Furthermore, attention was directed towards safeguarding critical infrastructure, with allocated budgets earmarked for reinforcing security measures. A comprehensive security audit is planned to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.

RPO Captain Retired Sajjad Hassan Khan issued clear directives to DPOs, signaling a shift towards more effective security operations.
