Ramiz Raja not planning to resign as PCB chairman

Despite a change in the federal administration, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has no plans to leave, according to trustworthy sources.

Raja is awaiting a message from the incoming government, according to insiders, and will continue to occupy the role until then.

Reports were circulating that Ramiz would resign by the Monday evening. While replying to this correspondent, Ramiz denied the reports.

“Will you resign by evening?”, the correspondent asked. “The news is wrong,” Ramiz answered.

They further stated that if Ramiz Raja resigns, former PCB chairman Najam Sethi’s name will be considered for the position.

The patron-in-chief (Pakistan’s Prime Minister) submits the chairman’s name to the board of governors, who vote for the nominee.

The PCB chairman, on the other hand, has changed with each change in the federal administration throughout the years. When Imran Khan formed his administration in 2018, PCB chairman Najam Sethi was promptly removed by Ehsan Mani.
