Rawalpindi DC rejects PTI’s plea for rally in Liaqatabad

The deputy commissioner (DC) of Rawalpindi has rejected a appeal from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) to hold a rally in Liaqatabad, citing concerns about potential disruptions to law and order.

PTI had sought permission to hold a rally in Liaqatabad, but the DC denied the request due to fears of a possible negative impact on the area’s security and safety.

In response to the decision, PTI’s provincial president Seemabia Tahir accused the government of being fearful of the party’s rally and using this as the reason to deny permission.

Despite the ruling by the DC, PTI has decided to challenge the decision in the high court, seeking to overturn the decision and proceed with their planned rally in Liaqatabad.
