Saqlain to continue as interim head coach for WI tour

Saqlain Mushtaq, former Pakistani cricketer, will remain as temporary head coach of the national team for the forthcoming West Indies series, which begins on December 13.

The West Indies will play a 15-day T20 and one-day international series in Pakistan.

“For the short overs series against the West Indies, Saqlain will continue to be the temporary head coach of the national cricket team,” a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official stated.

The PCB, on the other hand, is yet to name bowling and batting coaches for the next series.

“We’ll make a decision on it in a few days,” the official said, and added, “One thing is certain: Saqlain will remain the team’s head coach for the series against the West Indies.”

During Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, the PCB is likely to make a decision on the permanent Pakistan head coach.

In March 2022, Australia will travel to Pakistan for a tour. Prior to it, the PCB is anticipated to name a new long-term head coach.
