KSA’s sports minister encourages team player after loss to Poland

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Faisal offered Abdulelah al-Malki some words of support after the Saudi national team player committed a defensive error that resulted in a goal for the other team during Saturday’s World Cup match against Poland.

In a video that went viral on social media, Prince Abdulaziz was reportedly heard encouraging al-Malki to keep his head high after he lost control of the ball in front of the penalty box and allowed Poland’s Robert Lewandowski to score the team’s second goal.

Al-Malki appeared to be feeling upset in the video as the sports minister spoke to him.

Saudi Arabia faced off against Poland in their second World Cup match on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia’s Coach Herve Renard backed al-Maliki after the game and said that mistakes do occur occasionally throughout competitions.

After a surprising victory over Argentina the previous week, the Green Falcons suffered a setback.

Saudi Arabia’s national team is now anticipated to play Mexico on Wednesday.
