Senator Bugti asks government to rethink dialogue with BRA

BRA in a statement took responsibility for an attack on Pakistani forces

Senator Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday asked the government to rethink its dialogue with the banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA).

The Balochistan Awami Party senator made this statement while sharing the news of an attack on Pakistani forces in Balochistan.

Senator Bugti tweeted a picture of a press release issued by the banned outfit in which they took responsibility for an attack on the convoy of Pakistani forces in Geshtagan area of Zamran, between Kech and Panjgur in Balochistan.

According to the statement, five troops were martyred in the attack, and several got injured.

Meanwhile, the banned group has threatened further attacks on the authorities.

Bugti in his statement asked the Prime Minister and state authorities to realize the fact that dialogue with the said party could be harmful for the nation.

“Prime Minister and state authorities should realize this fact that in the name of dialogue, they are giving space to Brahumdagh Bugti and Baloch Republican Army,” he stated in his tweet.

He stated that the consequence of these measures [dialogues] would be nothing but destruction.

On the other hand, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday night released their official statement regarding the attack on the security personnel.

In the statement, ISPR said, “A group of terrorists, in a cowardly attack, targeted a patrolling party of security forces in Panjgur area, along Pakistan-Iran border. During the heavy exchange of fire, one soldier, Sepoy Jalil Khan, resident of DI Khan, sacrificed his life fighting valiantly.”

Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to defeat such acts of inimical elements, aimed at disrupting peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan, the statement added.
