Inclement weather conditions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have disrupted flight operations at Dubai International Airport, causing numerous cancellations and delays, particularly impacting flights to Pakistan.

Dubai Airport, renowned as one of the world’s busiest, has temporarily suspended flight operations, resulting in the cancellation of over 40 flights destined for Pakistan.

Approximately 43 flights bound for Pakistan from Dubai have been affected, leaving numerous passengers stranded.

Specifically, Pakistan International Airlines’s (PIA) flights PK-203 from Lahore to Dubai, PK-204 from Dubai to Lahore, and PK-185 from Lahore to Sharjah had to be canceled.

Similarly, SereneAir’s ER-1723 flight from Lahore to Dubai experienced a delay exceeding 10 hours.

Emirates flight EK-622, originating from Dubai and bound for Lahore, faced a delay of three and a half hours, while the previous night’s EK-623 flight from Lahore to Dubai was delayed by four hours.

Dubai’s extensive highways experienced congestion due to flooding, leading authorities to advise airport passengers to avoid travel unless necessary, following record rains in the city’s financial hub.

Passengers were urged not to visit Dubai airport, known as the world’s busiest for international traffic, unless faced with urgent circumstances, according to an official statement.

Despite the challenging conditions, ongoing efforts are being made to swiftly restore operations, including addressing continued flight delays and diversions, as highlighted by a spokesperson from Dubai Airports.
