Sindh Board of Film Censors has suspended the Public illegal screening of the bollywood film Pathaan in DHA Karachi.
Following the media reports about unauthorized movie showings at various locations in the Defence Housing Authority, the SBFC conducted its investigation to identify the social media pages selling tickets for unauthorized private movie showings.
Only movies with their certification are permitted for a public or private screening claims the SBFC.
“A film may not be made or arranged for a public or private cinematograph exhibition unless the Board has duly certified the film for public exhibition,” SBFC said.
The board demanded the organization in charge of the screenings Firework Events to immediately cancel its performances in light of the aforementioned provision as well as other laws and penalties, such as up to three years in prison and fines of up to Rs100,000.
Fireworks Events canceled all of its Pathaan private screenings as a result of the warning.
