Sindh’s Education department refuses registration for 54 schools

The Department of School Education in Sindh has taken decisive action by halting the registration process of 54 private schools for failing to adhere to the mandate of providing free education to at least 10 percent of underprivileged children.

In a comprehensive assessment, the Department of School Education conducted inspections across over a thousand private educational institutions within the province to ensure compliance with the requirement of offering 10 percent free enrollment to deserving students. Upon discovery of non-compliance, the registration of 54 private schools was suspended.

The Department of School Education in Sindh emphasized that these private schools were found to be in violation of the law, which stipulates that every private educational institution must allocate 10 percent of their total admissions for free education to economically disadvantaged students.

In alignment with the regulations set forth by the Sindh education department, schools must demonstrate adherence to the provision of free education to deserving students as a prerequisite for registration approval. Failure to comply with this essential requirement will result in the withholding of registration privileges for the respective schools.
