Snapchat takes action, introduces watermark to identify AI-generated images

As AI technology advances, detecting AI-generated content becomes increasingly challenging.

To address this, Snapchat is considering implementing a watermark on AI-created images, such as a ghost with sparkles, to indicate their origin.

This watermark would be visible when the image is saved or exported.

Additionally, Snapchat is introducing features like Extend and Dreams, which use AI to manipulate images, accompanied by context cards to explain their AI use.

CEO Evan Spiegel’s company has also outlined guidelines for the use and sharing of AI-generated content, emphasizing the potential for errors and inaccuracies in such creations.
