UAE suspends diplomatic ties with Israel

The United Arab Emirates suspended diplomatic relations with Israel following the killing of 7 charity workers in Gaza.

According to foreign media reports, the Emirati Ambassador to Israel, Muhammad Al-Khawaja, issued a statement expressing profound sorrow over the tragic loss of the aid workers, labeling it as the darkest day.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs reached out to Israeli Ambassador Amir Hayek via phone to convey their outrage regarding the deaths of the aid workers. An agreement was subsequently reached.

On April 2, Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza resulted in the deaths of 7 aid workers from the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK). In response, the European Union called for an investigation into the attack, while other nations, including Australia and Spain, strongly condemned the incident.
