The United States department of state has threatened terrorists of action if they regroup in Afghanistan.

The spokesperson of the department of state Ned Price showed concerns about Afghanistan becoming a haven for militants after the attack on Pakistan Embassy in Kabul.

The Taliban also didn’t follow through on its counterterrorism promises, the spokesperson claimed.

“We also have capabilities when it comes to counterterrorism in the region that does not leave us entirely beholden to the Taliban,” Ned said.

Additionally, he said that the United States had recently shown that it has those capabilities by assassinating the now-deceased al-Qaida leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, making good on the promise that President Biden has repeatedly made since the withdrawal of military forces from Afghanistan last year: that we will act if we see foreign terrorists regrouping in Afghanistan.

“We will take action in a way that protects our interests,” Ned price stated.

Ned Price stated that the US’s overarching objective is to prevent terrorists and other enemies from using Afghanistan as a jumping-off point for strikes against Pakistan.

The spokesperson also acknowledged that Pakistan is a significant partner in many ways when asked about the security cooperation with Islamabad.
