Woman pushed to death from moving train after police torture

Police officials have revealed that the woman who was subjected to torture by a police officer was later found dead near Banigoth railway station, allegedly pushed from a moving train. The incident occurred on April 7, when a railway police officer detained the woman after the torture. Identified as Maryam Bibi from Jaranwala, the victim was reportedly returning home from Karachi, where she worked at a beauty parlour, for Eid holidays.

The case gained attention after a viral video depicted a railway police officer, Constable Mir Hassan, abusing a woman and children aboard the Milat Express. In response, the Railway Department spokesperson confirmed the incident and assured strict action. Constable Mir Hassan was promptly arrested by DIG South Abdullah Sheikh, who denounced such unethical behavior and emphasized zero tolerance for misconduct among officials.

Despite this action, concerns are rising over the escalating incidents of violence against train passengers by railway police. Authorities have pledged a transparent investigation and stringent punishment for those responsible, aiming to prevent such incidents in the future and alleviate the distress faced by passengers.
