Zindigi, MyTM, and Cashin work to digitize pilgrimage for Pakistanis

Zindigi, powered by JS Bank and MyTM, has teamed up with Cashin (KSA) to launch a unique payment system designed for Pakistani pilgrims. This new system aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and aims to transform the Hajj and Umrah experience.

Announced at the LEAP conference, this initiative offers a cashless way to perform Hajj and Umrah, reducing fees and taxes. It’s a significant step toward Saudi Arabia’s goal of having 70% of transactions be cashless by 2030. This system provides a simpler, more efficient way for pilgrims to manage their expenses for visas, accommodation, and transportation. With Zindigi Debit cards, Pakistani pilgrims can make transactions easily and quickly, preparing for a trial run during Hajj 2024.

Basir Shamsie, President & CEO of JS Bank, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. He said, “This partnership is a big step towards making sacred rituals easier. It aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s goal of financial inclusion. By creating a cashless solution for Hajj and Umrah, we are setting new standards in convenience and safety. It’s a bridge that brings technology and tradition together.”

Noman Azhar, Chief Officer of Zindigi, explained the vision behind the initiative. He said, “Zindigi aims to impact customers’ lives across borders. With about 4 million people from Pakistan traveling to Saudi Arabia for Hajj and Umrah each year, our contribution in easing their journey is crucial. We are excited to be part of such meaningful projects that align with our core purpose.”

Sheikh Jawad Mahmood, CEO of MYTM LLC in Saudi Arabia, sees this collaboration as a breakthrough in financial technology. The Sullis Product, designed for the “Guests of Allah,” offers a seamless banking experience for Pakistani pilgrims. This innovative approach aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 for a cashless economy and Pakistan’s push for greater financial inclusion.

Omar Al-Rammah, CEO of Cashin Saudi Arabia, views this partnership as a major step toward digital transformation. He stated, “As Saudi Arabia moves toward a digital future, we focus on solutions that improve the payment experience for pilgrims and tourists, in line with Vision 2030. This partnership combines Cashin’s expertise in payment technology with the innovative solutions from Zindigi, JS Bank, and MyTM, aiming to simplify the payment process for pilgrims.”
