39 militants killed as Operation Shaaban continues in Balochistan

Pakistani security forces intensified Operation Shaaban in Balochistan, killing 13 more militants during the past 24 hours as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign launched after the attack on Mangi Dam Police Station, according to security sources.

The operation, carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police, continues across remote mountainous areas where security forces are targeting militant hideouts. Officials said the latest action has raised the total number of militants killed during the operation to 39.

In a separate incident on Friday morning, militants attempted to attack a police station in the Khuzdar district. Security personnel responded quickly and successfully repelled the assault. Security sources reported that the Pakistan Army and FC eliminated eight militants during the exchange of fire.

Authorities also said helicopter-assisted operations remain underway in difficult terrain. Initial reports indicate that an additional five to six militants may have been killed during these aerial operations, although officials have yet to release a final confirmation.

Security forces have tightened their cordon around militant positions as the operation enters its next phase. Officials said the objective is to dismantle militant networks operating in the region and prevent further attacks on law enforcement personnel and public installations.
