AI won’t replace jobs, says Mark Zuckerberg

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has dismissed one of the most common predictions about artificial intelligence (AI) saying that the technology will not lead to widespread job losses.

There has been ongoing debate about the potential risks AI poses to humanity with many experts predicting that millions of people could lose their jobs as AI becomes more advanced.

In a recent opinion article written for a U.S. newspaper, Zuckerberg argued that the future of AI will depend less on the technology itself and more on who controls it.

He said that advanced AI should be widely accessible to the public rather than being controlled by governments or a handful of powerful organizations.

According to Zuckerberg, broader public access to AI will create new opportunities, enable more people to start businesses and ultimately generate more jobs.

He also said he finds it surprising that many people working in AI warn that the technology will eliminate large numbers of jobs and reduce humanity’s role while continuing to actively develop it.

Zuckerberg added that it is difficult to understand why someone would continue building a technology if they truly believed it was inherently dangerous. He emphasized that he sees AI as a tool that can help people improve their lives and achieve greater success.

According to Zuckerberg, history has repeatedly shown that transformative technologies have helped ordinary people progress rather than simply replacing them.
