Former interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has been elected as a senator on Thursday.
The unopposed election phase for seven senators from Balochistan concluded, leading to the issuance of notifications for the successful candidates by the returning officer. Among them were Ahmad Khan Ghilzai (JUI-F), Aimal Wali Khan (ANP), Umar Gorgage (PPP), Jan Muhammad (NP), and Shahzaib Durrani (PML-N).
Former federal minister and Senator Talha Mehmood joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) after leaving his previous party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).
Expressing his views, Mehmood highlighted the economic and political challenges faced by Pakistan and stressed the need for collective efforts to overcome them.
