KARACHI: Sindh government spokesperson Arsalan Islam Sheikh has demanded that retired Captain Safdar apologise to the people of Sindh. He made the remarks during a press conference at the Karachi Press Club.
He said Captain Safdar should “fold his hands” and seek forgiveness from the people of Sindh. He added that strong responses would be given to any criticism.
Arsalan Islam Sheikh said leaders like Captain Safdar should be kept away from public discourse. He alleged that Safdar had made statements against Sindh’s culture.
He further said Captain Safdar should visit Sindh for a day. He added that the provincial government and people would welcome him.
The spokesperson said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) enjoys strong public support. He said this is evident from the party’s performance in elections.
He said PPP has always focused on public service. He added that the party does not rely on marketing campaigns or social media promotion.
Arsalan Islam Sheikh said the PPP quietly serves the people. He said governance is based on delivery, not publicity.
He also said false statements are being made regarding the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. He said the Sindh government will respond to all such claims.
He said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto is currently in Gilgit-Baltistan. He added that rights for the region were provided under PPP leadership.
The spokesperson said the federal government must release Sindh’s due financial share. He said Karachi’s development is being affected due to insufficient funding.
He added that Sindh will not accept any unilateral decision regarding new provinces or administrative units. He said such changes require consensus.
He said the people of Sindh would not accept any imposed political or administrative division. He reaffirmed PPP’s stance on provincial unity.
He concluded that Sindh remains firm under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto. He said the province will continue to resist any forced structural changes.
