Bahrain has strongly condemned recent missile attacks it attributes to Iran, as well as strikes affecting neighboring Kuwait, calling the actions a serious violation of sovereignty and a threat to regional stability in the Gulf.

In a statement issued by Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry, the country said the intercepted missile attacks represented “a flagrant violation” of both Bahraini and Kuwaiti territory. Authorities confirmed that incoming missiles were successfully neutralized, preventing major damage or casualties.

Manama accused Iran of breaching international obligations, referencing United Nations Security Council resolutions that address attacks in the region and prohibit threats to maritime navigation, including any attempts to disrupt or close the Strait of Hormuz.

The Bahraini government also urged Tehran to immediately stop what it described as “unjustified” attacks, warning against any further escalation. It called for the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without restrictions and demanded transparency regarding reported naval mines, as well as assistance in ensuring the safe evacuation of thousands of stranded sailors in regional waters.

Officials emphasized that Bahrain’s restraint “does not signify weakness,” stressing that the protection of national sovereignty remains a red line and that the country reserves the right to take all necessary measures to defend its security.

Earlier, Bahrain’s Interior Ministry had issued alerts after air raid sirens were activated in response to the attacks, advising residents to remain calm and move to safety. Kuwait also reported that its air defense systems were engaged against incoming missile and drone threats.

The latest escalation comes amid heightened regional tensions following earlier military strikes and retaliatory actions across the Middle East, which have disrupted shipping routes and intensified concerns over global energy security. Diplomatic efforts continue, but the situation remains fragile as Gulf states call for restraint and de-escalation.
