Bannu police, peace committee strike 11-point deal to combat terrorism

BANNU: The police and members of a local peace committee have signed an 11-point agreement aimed at maintaining peace, improving cooperation with law-enforcement agencies and helping eliminate terrorism in Bannu.

Peace committee members have agreed to immediately share information with police about suspicious activities, suspected militants and any developments that could threaten public security. They will also cooperate fully with law-enforcement agencies in efforts to prevent terrorist activities and maintain law and order.

Under the agreement, peace committee members have committed to staying within the law and avoiding any activity that could undermine public order. They will not take the law into their own hands, engage in illegal activities or resist police action in any manner.

The agreement also calls for greater coordination between the police and the peace committee at the local level. Committee members will assist police in promoting peace among the public and encourage residents to cooperate with authorities in maintaining security.
