By-elections set for 21 constituencies on April 21

By-elections are coming up in 21 constituencies of the National and provincial assemblies all over Pakistan. Preparations are being made to ensure the voting process goes smoothly.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) says they’ve finished training returning officers, presiding officers, and data entry operators. They conducted one-day training sessions for polling staff in seven phases. Over 4,500 staff members are now ready for their roles.

Over 1,700 presiding officers will work in five National Assembly constituencies. In 16 provincial assembly constituencies, there will be over 2,200 presiding officers.

The by-elections in these constituencies are set for April 21. Campaigning for the by-polls will stop on Friday midnight.

The following National Assembly constituencies will have elections: NA-8 Bajaur, NA-44 Dera Ismail Khan, NA-119 Lahore, NA-132 Kasur, NA-196 Kambar Shahdadkot.

In Punjab Assembly, elections will be held in these constituencies: PP-22 Chakwal-cum-Talagang, PP-32 Gujrat, PP-36 Wazirabad, PP-54 Narowal, PP-93 Bhakkar, PP-139 Sheikhupura, PP-147 Lahore, PP-149 Lahore, PP-158 Lahore, PP-164 Lahore, PP-266 Rahim Yar Khan, PP-290 DG Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will see elections in these constituencies: PK-22 Bajaur, PK-91 Kohat.

Balochistan Assembly will have elections in these constituencies: PB-20 Khuzdar and PB-22 Lasbela.
